The Saboteur

ABOUT THIS PROJECT

The Saboteur:
An NFTS Collaboration project with TV students. A new quiz game show called ‘The Saboteur’ was created. The premise of the show was to challenge four contestants together to answer a series of general knowledge questions. The contestants have to reach the end with as many points as possible. The hook of the game is that there is one saboteur contestant. The Saboteur, as the name describes has to sabotage the game for the other players, and they have to try and work out amongst themselves who exactly the saboteur is in order to win the game.

Design:
Follows a MAD MEN design style characteristics. I make use of a 1 pt perspective seen in (Stanley Kubrik) films. Logo design is simplistic and makes use the colours which feature in the Tv sequence. Slow and paced enough to get through an idea of a man falling through time. Three blue for normal contestants, and the red is The Saboteur. The colour gradients move as the the man falls through the space.

THE SABOTEUR DEVELOPMENT

Sketches which were created as possible concepts for The Saboteur logo.

The sketches I designed were slightly complicated in some parts, and would therefore be difficult to simulate in an external editing software like, After Effects.

The client wanted something that could represent the show in the simplest form. Images below depict my expression of this as a concept, which ultimately landed up being further progressed. The drawn type is to be bold, and have an ominous vibe to it, with the four sectors which make up a revolving circle.

These sections:

Abstract representations = four contestants Big, bold type. Design is uses 1pt perspective (as seen) in Stanley Kubrick films One red for The Saboteur contending to create the ultimate sabotage within the game. Revolving sectors. Three of the pieces are orange. This represents the non-saboteurs. The prototype colours aren't representative of the final design.
