Poem animation
ABOUT THIS PROJECT
A brief from NFTS: Brief was to create a motion graphic interpretation of a poem. The poem I selected was ’When the World was Black and White’ by London-based poet Daniel Cockrill. This was a really fun and exciting brief for me to explore. I chose to respond to this brief using abstract imagery and took a non-literal approach throughout.
Design Approach:
Design follows contradictory imagery all throughout the poem. The idea is to trick the viewers eyes, as well as the ears by testing the viewers comprehension of the poet’s words being overlayed in the motion design piece.
Design Style:
The final motion piece is predominantly monochromatic to reflect the rather sombre mood of the poem. The style seeks to evoke associations of a dystopian world.
