River Thames
ABOUT THIS PROJECT
A brief from NFTS: Create a motion graphic to convey 10 facts about the River Thames.
Design Approach: The design centres upon the progression of the River Thames and key events which have happened in and around the river. A few notable historical events are depicted with monochromatic and intense imagery, before the progression to more peaceful and colourful waterway scenes which represent the modern status of the river and its abundant aquatic life.
Design Detail:Changing colour palette (monochromatic to vibrant colours) used to convey the subject of each of the facts. The dark, visually intense images created for the first section of the piece are to convey the darker historical facts and represent the harsher environments and serious nature of the facts displayed. There is a distinct transition to the second segment of the piece where vibrant colours, more peaceful imagery, often centred around aquatic life, is used in line with the themes discussed in the facts. This imagery (and its transition distinct transition) is coupled with provocative then evocative audio sensory sounds to immerse the viewer in the piece.
